There are tons of websites on the internet where you can download beats, but if they aren't studio quality, what's the point? Sure, that beat sounds good on your laptop's built-in speakers, but play it through your friend's slick car stereo system, and you're liable to blow it out.
Make sure the beats you download are mixed properly to studio standards, especially if you are paying for them. Websites that don't offer or play you any free samples are likely to rip you off! Which brings me to my next point...
2. Don't get ripped off:
Watch the asking prices for exclusive rights to hip hop instrumental beats. Depending on where you go, some of these folks are charging upwards of $2,000 for exclusive rights! Some of these same folks are charging around $500 just for limited leasing rights! Some of these producers must think they're Kanye West or something... let me put it to you this way. If you know you don't have that kind of money, don't be lassoed into buying beats that are that expensive!
These are just a couple tips to get you going with your hip hop career! Know what you're buying, and keep an eye on your prices, and you should be on your way to spitting over some incredible beats soon!
