3 Simple Steps You Need to Know About Making Beats

If you're just starting out and learning how to make beats, all though the idea can be fun but once you get stuck in it can be really frustrating. One of the biggest mistakes people make is not knowing the style of beats they want to produce, so what ends up happening is a beat is produced, but with no known style.
Some times, without even realizing, people will produce a beat with many styles mixed in to one beat, and most of the time it sounds... rubbish - to be blunt. Luckily for you here are 3 simple tips that should make it easier for you to select a style of beats to produce and be on your way to producing killer beats.
Know your style?
For some reason most people miss out this step, and go straight in to making a beat without knowing what kind of style beat their going to produce. So, here is a good way to know your style - Ok, now we've identified you need a style, what's it gonna be: Hip Hop, R n' B, pop, west cost, east cost and so on... once you've figured out your style, you'll have an idea of how to make your beats.
Select a artist mimic?
Now you know your style, who's the best at making beats in that style? Or whose beats do you enjoy in the style you've selected? Once you've got an artist or few, start making beats that you think they would like.
Listen to their work?
Once you've got your artist to mimic listen to their work, take the time to listen to their style get a feel for it. Add then answer these questions afterwards:
What do you like?
What do you think you could improve?
What do you think is missing?
How can you take what you've learnt from the artist and make it your own?
